Is the mountain before you overwhelming? Are the things of this world clouding your vision? Not understanding the why and what fors of the situation? Are you starting to find yourself slowly falling into the self-pity mode? Fear not! you’re not alone, this, I believe happens more often than we care to admit. Our eyes and thoughts move from our faith to our emotions, causing us to lose sight of who our God is and what gems we are to learn from the mountain challenge,
Hidden in every mountain whether it is created by us or from the enemy, has a lesson to learn. So often our mountain is created within our head, worries and doubts make what is in reality nothing major into an unsurmountable mountain. We now find that all our attention is focused on this mountain, we can become so overwhelmed that it is occupying all of our thoughts with every negative outcome. Have you ever noticed that more often than not there are no good outcomes in this scenario? Zig Ziglar once said “What you focus on the longest will become the strongest.” So, we need to move from the mountain before us. How do we do that?
Moving from our mountain takes a willingness and effort. We need to release the anxiety of the situation to the one who is so much greater. Our God has given us clear instruction on how to handle anxiety and worry in His word. DON’T. Philippians 4:6 ” Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by pray and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.” How about this? Psalms 55:22 “Cast your care on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.” This subject about worries and doubt is so important to our God that He has made a point to remind us continually in His word. As easy as this sounds it is not.
The first step is to recognize that we have taken our eyes off the only one who can without a doubt deliver us from our situation. We need to run back to our redeemer with a heart of repentance and put the mountain where it belongs, at His feet. This is where the mountain starts to dissolve. It may not disappear but once we surrender to Jesus the issue, and get our eyes back on Him it will not be overwhelming and controlling any longer. Trust that He always has a plan, our best interest at hand. Here is where our faith gets tested, where our word needs to become our action.
Looking at the photo of the solid mountain you can clearly see what is a gold streak within its formation. Before it was cut away the line was not noticeable, with all its dirt and overgrowth. Once the mountain was exposed to the light it became obvious. I think our mountains in life are the same. Once we start to look at them laid in surrender at the feet of Jesus, we can see the golden truths He is teaching us. I know without a doubt that every mountain in life offers us the opportunity to grow our trust and faith in Jesus. James 1: 2-3 (TPT)”My fellow believers, when it seems as though you are facing nothing but difficulties, see it as an invaluable opportunity to experience the greatest joy that you can! For you know that when your faith is tested it stirs up power within you to endure all things.”
In my personal mountains of life, I have learned to ask God what I am supposed to be learning through this adventure. I have certainly asked more than once why me, why am I here. Each time I am reminded that is the wrong question. I’m always being prodded in the direction of giving it to God. He is so much bigger than any mountains of life, His Name is above every name. He wants us to be the overcomers He sacrificed himself on our behalf to be. He has delegated His authority to us to walk in victory in this life. Lest we forget who we are because of Jesus. 1 Chronicles 16:11 (TKJ) “Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.”
I want to encourage you to release the worldly issues you are facing to Jesus, He is some much greater. Have an amazing week walking in His freedom. You are so valuable.
