The rising sun. I am still amazed at how beautiful our God paints that picture, no matter how many times I’ve seen it. It doesn’t matter where I have been to enjoy them, the beauty is always awe-inspiring, just for us. No two are even remotely the same. No matter what the weather is at the time, the sun still rises. Sometimes we don’t see it at all. On other occasions, it is partly obscured, and other times crystal clear. I find that many of my favorite photos are with clouds or other natural objects. Like the photo above. The morning I took this photo the snow-covered ground and the air temperatures had created this breathtaking picture. The first thing that came to my mind was Psalm 113:3. It says, “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised.” How can I see this and not give thanks to my creator.
The bible uses the sunrise to represent a new beginning, a fresh start. Every day is a new beginning, yesterday is already history. God is providing fresh and new, His mercy, wisdom, and grace for us for today. As we witness the rising sun, it should remind us that Jesus is the light of the world. He lights our path. John 8:12 (TPT) puts it clearer. Then Jesus said, ” I am the light of the world and those who embrace me will experience life-giving light, they will never walk in darkness”. That darkness is sin. Walking in the light of Jesus will keep us steady. We will not be driven back and forth by the darkness of this world. This truth is so important. God has ensured that it is spoken of and is repeated often in His word. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT) Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” The creator of all the universe takes the time daily to remind us how important we are to Him! I am truly overwhelmed by the fact that the God of all creation loves us immensely. He takes the time daily to remind us of this.
Today, we watch the rising of the sun. Let it remind us of the new day God has given. By the Almighty God, we have awakened to enjoy His amazing portrait of the dawning new day. Let me encourage you to stop and remember all the blessings you have. Be grateful for what God has done for you. The Israelite’s according to Isaiah, forgot to remember all the blessing of our Lord and became ungrateful. This led to their destruction. Let us never fail to thank God for all that He has and continues to do for you and me. His love exceeds anything we can image. Today, let me encourage us to spend some time in thanksgiving. Let’s praise and worship while remembering all the blessing our God has given. Unearned or deserved, just because He love us. Have an amazing week living your best life in Jesus.
